Make sure you have turned in your MS Odyssey paper - it's overdue!
Look over Rollercoaster guidelines and rubric on google classroom. Pick your group and tell me. Come up with a name/title/theme. Designate roles for your team- who is in charge of what? Everyone has a writing responsibility. Start your draft of the rollercoaster design. TEST grade- due Th Oct 5 by end of school.

Your "My Middle School Odyssey" is due at the end of class today. Use class time to proofread, peer review, edit, revise, and polish it. Make sure is is APA format and has your name on it. Submit it as soon as you are done.
If you finish early you can check out the final Odyssey project, the Odyssey Rollercoaster. See Google classroom for information and rubrics and start thinking about members of your group. Brainstorm over the weekend. Today you need to expand your MS narrative draft and work on page 2. Proofread and add details to enrich your writing. By the end of class you should have a full draft ready to be refined by a final proofreading and revision. This assessment is due Thursday at the end of class.
Warm Up:
Tell 2 ways that Odysseus is LOYAL, and 3 ways that he is INGENIOUS Work: get page 1 draft of My Middle School Odyssey done- think about page 2 due TH for TEST grade Warm Up: Answer the questions on p1048 on grammar and vocabulary
Work session: share SWOTs and Review questions on p1046. Brainstorm, outline, and begin draft of My Middle School Odyssey. Create checklist and make sure you have the elements you need in your writing outline. Continue conferences with me on POV narrative writing. Closing: Think about what you want in the first page of your draft and the scope of your story. Warm Up: Look up "hubris" and apply it to the Odyssey and other texts you've read and films, etc
Work session: Do Odysseus SWOT and discuss. Finish reading The Odyssey to p1046 and answer Review and Assess questions with a partner. Conference with me on POV narrative writing. Work on brainstorming, checklist, and outline for My MS Odyssey due next TH. Warm up: Odyssey Ithaca video

Work session: pull out your discussion questions for beginning of Part 2 of The Odyssey. We will share and discuss and go over the reading check quiz. Finish Peer Reviews of narratives. Read "Argus," "the Suitors," "Penelope," and "The Challenge." Answer the Review and Assess questions with a partner on p 1037 when done. Turn in any late Map work or POV narratives! Any late maps must be turned in. Read The Odyssey p1021-1027 if you haven't already, then make a copy of the reading check quiz in google classroom and take it and submit.
15 min into class we will share your 3 discussion questions. If you are on track, complete your new POV narrative and do peer review and submit by the end of class. If you are ahead of the game, then read "Argus" and "The Suitors" and "Penelope." Get an outside reading book to enjoy. |
