We will be finishing MAP Reading testing. If you are absent, don't worry. You can make it up when you return. Continue to turn in late work to get rid of all missing scores/0's in grade book. I want your grade to reflect your abilities- knock it out!
Work on Odyssey Map- don't forget all the elements of the rubric in google classroom. Check your spelling and figure how how you are going to incorporate the 16 one sentence summaries in the design: above, below, left, right, second page if necessary. These summaries are a plot key for your map. MAP Reading testing continues. Keep iPads charged!
Turn in any late work. I will be entering grades today. Check to see what you are missing: summer reading, journal#1, journal#2, peer review and self-assessment? If you missed the latter, please see me and get hard copy of review to do with peer in class today. HW- read over The Odyssey Map requirements and rubric. Start drafting it on paper. I have construction and copy paper you can use along with colored pencils. This is test grade due at end of school day Sept 5. Catch up on and turn in any late work: summer reading, Odyssey Journal #1, Peer Review and Self-Assessment, and Odyssey Journal #2. MAP Reading testing this week. Charge your iPAD. Work on Odyssey Map Project due Tues, Sept 5- must be done on paper and indicate chronology of journey-TEST grade.
Warm up: Answer Review and Assess questions with a partner on p 1017 then write a 1 paragraph summary of the highlights of Part 1 of The Odyssey.
Work session: Peer review and self assessment of Journal #1- if you are absent from class, we will find a time for you to do in Lunch and Learn this week with another absent partner. HW- MAP project due Tuesday/ CHARGE IPADS for class this week Warm up: watch Moana clip on journeys and demi-gods:

Work session: Watch Greek Gods and Moana video and read "Scylla and Charybdis" and work on your next journal entry which will be due Friday. Get an outside reading book and turn in any late work Turn in any late work- summer reading or Odyssey journal #1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE JOINED GOOGLE CLASSROOM.
Note good quotations from "Land of the Dead" to "Scylla and Charybdis" for Odyssey journal #2 due on Friday. Pick passages that are significant to you. WARM UP: Brainstorm all the pros and cons of Odysseus thus far and make a list with 2 columns. What is heroic and what is anti-heroic? When does he shine, and when does he disappoint? WORK SESSION: The Odyssey Fact Quest- pull up Google doc and find the answers. You can use your iPad and the text. Record your answers. HW- if you have been absent, get caught up on reading through "The Sirens" chapter and find a free reading book to enjoy from home, library, or classroom Odyssey journals should be finished and turned in. Summer Reading is now late.
Warm up: small group discussion on what we have read so far. Answer the review questions on p1004 and be ready to share Work session: Read "The Sirens" and start noting possible quotations for new journal due Friday. HW: Turn in Journal #1 by 3pm
